Cupid's Kiss: a short, romance comedy

Cupid's Kiss was made in five days under the constraints of O2A2 Jam 2024. As such, it's a short game containing <1000 words, one sprite, one background, one music, one sound effect and one voice actor.
Due to erm, circumstances (aka I counted the words wrong the first time), we've released two versions:
- the full version (which you can play on web as well as download), with four endings which takes about 15-20 minutes to finish.
- the O2A2 version with one ending which takes about 5-10 minutes to finish and is
hiddenavailable in the downloads.

I think I just unintentionally made the second ending as bad as the first one. Infinite torture isn't anything new (think biblical hell or Greek mythology's Sisyphus or Tantalos), but being stuck with your partner for all eternity? Imagine how much you would argue with them. It's like The Jaunt by King, but for unhappy couples (and without teleportation).
Love love love this. I most certainly didn't expect to go into a short cupid dating sim and feel so understood. Having the 'I just don't want to date' options and Virgil being so chill and validating as a response was kinda everything to me.
Though, of course I had to immediately play again to smooch him. 10/10 would do again <3

Love that for you! As of now there's no hard plans for it (I have a few other projects I need to get out of the way first), but given the amount of people who like it, there's a strong chance that we'll expand on it.

As an aroace person, I had to go for ending 3 just to see how Virgil would respond to people like me his ranting about his successful jobs made me curious. The other endings were great I wish I could talk to Virgil again. Overall cute short little game loved it.

Such a lovely little gem! The art and UI are great, Virgil's design is SO nice, and his VA did a great job too! I'd love to see Virgil back in some way; maybe a small sequel or even a prequel would be cool. :>

this game was deffo one of the best ones for this challenge, Sorry if it looked like I wasn't really invested I was recording for 4 HOURS at this point soooo my head wasn't really in the game lol
